Hooray!

I finished! I wasn't sure I was going to make it when I lost several weeks after having shoulder surgery. Some of my posts had to be combined and some were kind of weak but I made it through each one. Actually having the 23 things to work through made my required stay at home recuperation more palatable.

Thing 22

Yes it is both easy to get lost in the day to day work and it's easy to get lost in social networking pages. It is important to keep up with what's new and happenin'
Therefore, I promise to do my best to keep up and take the time to try new things.

I may redo my blog. I'm now full of ideas to make it better or at least more interesting.

Remember back to thing one - adult learners better absorb what they learned by reflecting on what had just transpired. Or something like that!

Thing 21

I found several other social networking groups I'd love to join - like the MPR ones but how does anyone have time to really participate in all these groups? I try and check my facebook once a week but if I had to check several once a week I'm not sure I would be able to manage it.

WebJunction is a great idea and well worth it.

Thing 20

I already had a facebook page but I must admit I check it regularly but I haven't used it to its full potential. So, I joined some groups, friended some people. I even left a post on my 19 year old daughter's page. I hope she won't "unfriend" me for that.

A friend was telling me about her teenage son who was supposed to contact a friend with whom he was doing a project. When the mom asked her son what the friend had said, he said I couldn't get a hold of her. The Mom said, on it's too bad she wasn't home. The son replied, well she might be home but she's not on facebook. The mom suggested her son use the telephone to contact his project partner.

Thing 19

Ha! An easy one for me. I love MPR podcasts. I've never set up the RSS though. I listen to MPR during my commute and if there is a story that I missed part of or if they have more information in a podcast and I'm interested, I get it at home.

I've always thought it would be fun to have teens do a podcast from the library. I've never gotten around to doing it. Perhaps this will give me the impetus!

Thing 18

I love the Muppets and this silly video epitomizes everything I love about them. I have used Youtube many times before. It's great. As far as for uses in the library, I've helped patrons find speeches and all sorts of video clips on Youtube. Internally I suppose staff meetings or trainings could be posted for people to see...
